Wonthaggi

Wonthaggi is a town where a rich, social history and a legacy of contribution mingles with a vibrant local arts scene and natural, coastal living. We were tasked with reviewing and modernising the Wonthaggi ‘Discover our Secrets’ identity to inspire visitation to, and engagement with, all the town offers.

We wanted to ensure the refreshed and optimised identity felt connected to, and inspired by, the stories of the community. The logo is influenced by Wonthaggi’s proximity to the coast line, with a modern take on waves visible in the W & O. The sliding tab device creates a flexible visual system that is a literal interpretation of the notion of discovery. It reveals both the tagline in the logo, as well as unveiling other stories and experiences in our communications. The colour palette is guided by the Wonthaggi landscape, arts scene, history and people who live, work and invest in the area. 

We launched with a set of bold and distinctive signs to lead visitors and residents on a tour to discover Wonthaggi’s hidden gems.
