ACD (formerly Association for Children with a Disability) is a Victorian not-for-profit organisation supporting children with all types of disabilities and their families to advocate for better outcomes. As the organisation grew and matured into a leading voice of lived experience in the sector, it needed an optimised name, tagline and brand that reflected its influence and professionalism, without alienating its passionate community.

Through workshops with the team, we reached the name and tagline ACD - Advocating for children with disability. The move to an acronym reflected the way key audiences already referred to the organisation, while allowing the new tagline to build clear meaning into the name. This was paired with a refreshed visual identity, inspired by the hand-drawn effect and purple colour palette of the original brand. The brand refresh injects optimism and personality while improving accessibility - a key consideration for an organisation operating within the disability sector.

Together, the new name, tagline and visual identity position ACD to continue supporting families to be their children’s greatest advocates, and tackle barriers to deliver better outcomes for all children with any type of disability.
